WordPress 3.1 for Christmas?

Posted on Dec 17, 2010

“Code is poetry.” – WordPress

The second WordCamp in the Netherlands was held last month in Seats2Meet in Utrecht. 200 participants from beginners to core developers attended the event that focused on anything WordPress– from installing, optimizing and API’s.

The day was fast and full of information. Talks were divided into three groups — beginners, designers and code wizards — to make sure everybody gets the most out of their day at their own WordPress level. Along with us WordPress geeks were an interestingly fair amount of android-powered smartphones over the iphones (hurrah!).

But that’s not the most important incident of the day of course. (Forgive me for noticing the gadgets.) The real highlight to me was the news shared with us by WordPress Core Developer Andrew Nacin that 3.1 might be served on the online publishing platter before Christmas. Quite a gift for WordPress users if you ask me…

I have been with WordPress for two or three years now and I don’t exactly feel comfortable updating every now and then but Nacin strongly suggests going with the flow and paying it forward is the way to enrich the online publishing world…

All WordPress users know that this platform is not only free but priceless so the Core Developer urges everyone to be a part of the open source community by using, testing and even developing whenever there’s a new WordPress upgrade in town. #
