in the morning:
I want a BBC-style news ticker (not a new sticker) on this page. But I don’t know how to do it. There are free wares or widgets available but it does not look like the BBC’s ticker. So I decided to make my own. Mioplanet describes how to ‘Create a Scrolling News Ticker in JavaScript’ but it did not work for me. Maybe I did not do it the right way or whatever, however, it did not work.
in the afternoon:
When I got back home from the ‘Suikerfeest, I surfed the internet again trying to find out how I can get a ticker. I found some more interesting widgets and I used the precise ticker for a while. But it didn’t look good on my blog. So I searched for more, and came up with this one on top! (Look on the top of the page, below the title.) Now, I like it. The color could be better but I like the fact that the pages are customizable. I also find it cool that I can syndicate news from five news groups and/or corporations. I got BBC news on it, Philippine news, Discovery and Space news. I also have this day in history from the History Channel. Cool!
I have been really excited about updating my blog lately. (Even got a new title, see it?) I try to find the time every now and then to use it as an instrument to gain additional skills like HTML coding. Yesterday, I was busy learning about RSS feeds, wikis and podcasting. Luckily, the internet is there, an open source of new skills and knowledge. Sometimes, it makes me wonder how the world would be without the internet. You don’t even have to pay for an HTML tutorial, because you can get it for free! All you need to do is open your mind and want to learn. And you can learn a lot while sitting back and reading with a hot cocoa on hand. #
